Young pigs' slaughter. WARNING: this particular sample is very moving, at least for me. It begins with a cry and slowly fades out as the poor creature dies. Recorded in a country house's open yard near Cabra, S Spain. Sennheiser ME66 + MKH30, Shure FP24 preamp, Edirol R09 recorder. It was very hard for me to record this so I hope it's any use.
EDIT: I feel the need to clarify. This is the traditional way of killing the pig in Spanish (and many other countries) rural environment. It is based on bleeding (severance of the major blood vessels), which is not the norm in industrial slaughter houses nowadays (where stunning is applied previously to reduce suffering). I uploaded this to document a traditional practice - very cruel in my opinion - , for the sake of anthropological interest if you wish. Listeners can extract her/his own ethic/moral implications.

A bone chilling, unforgettable sound. We are so disconnected from where our "food" comes from and think it just appears in nicely wrapped styrofoam packages. Think again folks. Humans are evolved far beyond the unnecessary and cruel killing of animals for food, clothes, entertainment. Animals are not ours to use or abuse. Choose life- choose to not eat animals.

This is a versatile sound file. I thank dobroide for recording such a beautiful sound...

Oh yeah, and vegetarians are fudge packin' hippies. Go back to California, and lock that closet door. Do you realize you are socialists, and are waging a war against Capitalistic Carnivores? With that said, prepare to fight with the energy of Soy and tofu... Nothing other than succulent animal fats will provide you with the relentless drive of a warrior.

...I agree that animal cruelty is obviously unsettling, but I can assure you all, the death we shall provide for our meal, is a lot less brutal than than the one mother nature would've inflicted upon that little piggy. In retrospect we were doing it a favor. Everythinz gonn' die no matta' wut.
