This is an 18 second recording of a cricket at close range ~10 cm. Required a lot of stealth to get in close without disturbing the little blighter :) If you open this recording in a frequency-spectrum view you will see that I have filtered out all the non-cricket frequencies to leave a hi-fi cricket against an inky backdrop. Recording chain: Rode NT-4 stereo mic (one capsule pointed at the cricket) --> Sound Devices MixPre (50% gain) --> Edirol R-09 recorder (line-in 24 bit 44.1 kHz, rec level = 10) --> Edited in www.flstudio.com Edison wave editor --> 16 bit 44.1 kHz.

This sounds too amazing. What a great capture, Digifish! your recordings never let me down, they only make me want more.

Thanks. I hope it sounded authentic as the cricket would be depressed to think he sounded fake :)
