Maribor - New location - Locator JN76TN - Maribor Park is a park located north of the old town centre in Maribor. Today, the entire park covers an area of ​​around 54 ha. It is located north of the city centre itself. Since its "foundation", it has been a popular spot for rest or recreation. Parents with their children, pensioners, and young people gather there, and it also represents a place of recreation for students from nearby high schools. The park also has a children's playground, an aquarium-terrarium, and a pavilion where morning concerts are held in the spring and summer.

On 19 July 1871, the city municipality (the mayor was Dr. Matija Reiser) purchased a larger part of the land (the old park, to the right of the promenade) from Count Ferdinand Brandis. The first part of the park was planted by the Graz gardener Marauschegg in 1872, from the current Maistrova Street to the northern end of the chestnut avenue.
