Mass is still going on. I look at the bell tower where the clock is and the clock says 10:45. At that moment, the bell rang, three strikes.

klankbeeld Here, in Slovenia, the bells ring in the following way:
15 minutes over an hour 10:15, 11:15, they strike once
30 minutes past or half past ten, half past eleven 09:30, 10:30 they strike twice
45 minutes per full hour or as they say here, 15 to ten, 09:45 they strike three times.
On the full hour, 09:00, 10:00 they strike as many times as there are hours. Ten o'clock, ten strikes per bell.
A little clearer?
