On August 8 we were at the Oregon Coast and one of my goals was to record the sound of a certain pond in the forest at twilight. As a kid I remember being there at that time of the evening and experiencing some fantastic bird songs. However that day was somewhat cloudy, thus I don't think many birds were out. So instead of birdsongs I captured only silence with a few fish jumping. I set up the recorder at the edge of the pond just as it was starting to get dark, then took a walk down the road. I returned 15 minutes later, and decided to pick up a rock and throw it in. This is the splash from that. I decided not to post the recording of the time I was out walking because it is pretty boring.

I had a similar experience, down at the waters edge at dusk waiting for interesting sounds, only to be eaten by mosquitos and so I started making my own noises after 30 minutes of silence...and wind noises :)
