Another in the February 13-15 2021 blizzard/freezing rain series. After recording https://freesound.org/people/daveincamas/sounds/558683/ I grabbed the mic, bumped the gain a bit, and walked around to capture the ice crashing off the trees up close, standing directly under several trees. My binaural head is dangling close to the snow surface so you can hear my footsteps quite loudly. The snow is quite deep in places due to drifting. The snow surface is covered with about 0.75 inches of ice.
You can hear drips and big chunks of ice falling off the trees the entire recording.

01:19 A distant freight train blows its whistle. This continues for a few minutes. The distant low rumble is from this train.
03:55 A few ice chunks fall quite close
04:16 A few more close ones
07:26 A breeze comes through which knocks down a lot of ice. Some of it hits the mics (and me) directly. The ice is 1-2 inches in diameter so it hurts a bit.
07:39-09:16 The recordists' nemesis - an airplane. Unless you are wanting a binaural recording of an airplane in an ice storm. It does actually sound kind of nice with headphones as it passes from left to right.
