I cant remember which sound I downloaded as a base for this sound, but It was a monotone one.
I added some distortion and equalization, exported that, re-imported it and overlayed more distortion, did some more equalization and made a smooth introduction to the sound with the Fruity Fast LP filter in Fl studio. I was mainly inspired by the drones from Oblivion, the short saw-burst sound they made when they asked for identification, and of course, Mass effect reapers.
