Sparks erupting from a panel. Much like firecrackers. Used in Star Trek.
These are high-quality copies of Hollywood original optical and mag effects from the 1930s through the '60s, transferred to full-track tape by USC Cinema. I have digitized them for preservation, but they have not all been restored and may have some noise.

Cool, glad you liked it. It could indeed be part of that Star Trek design. Most of these sounds are orphans that were carried from studio to studio by sound editors. It's weird that now that I've digitized all these, I'm starting to hear them in old films fairly often. Always kind of freaks me out because I'm not used to hearing them in a real context.

Awesome perfect sound like the sparks from The Original Star Trek episode Balance of Terror when Spock tried to get phasers back online from the malfunctioning electrical panel on the bridge.
