I recorded the engine and transmission sounds when riding the Mississauga Transit/MiWay buses. This is a recording of a 2007 New Flyer D40LFR transit bus, equipped with a Cummins ISL I6 diesel engine and Voith D864.5 4-speed automatic transmission. This bus was retired from service in 2025. This specific bus has an odd-sounding transmission that produces a lower pitched noise when in 3rd gear, similar to the transmissions on Mosgortrans' LiAZ-5292 buses in Moscow. Mosgortrans bus 07343 sounds fairly similar to this clip of MiWay 0735.
