I'm unsure what kind of animal this is but it's been haunting my forest from time to time this summer and finally got an admittedly poor recording of it. It was about 2 am and thankfully everything was quiet, even the trees. However it was easily 1000+ yards away and this was from my bedroom window so it's not the best quality and had to up the gain and do some minor EQ work. At one point you can hear a juvenile (or female?) of the same species cry and he follows up almost immediately. Sorry for the yucky noise floor :(

An eerie scream! It seems to me that it is still a bird! Where was the sound recording made?
