I've done a remix on this as "Store Scanner Beep" at http://www.freesound.org/people/zerolagtime/sounds/144418. If I find out how to get the remix portion of my version to work, I'll link the two together.
The remix addressed these issues: background noise, too soft, before/after sounds irrelevant to the core effect. I'm not digging the original since it absolutely saved me from trying to record it myself.
Thanks for the recording, both in time to collect and in posting it.
