Yachats, Oregon, United States

During a low tide on the coast of Oregon I noticed that many pieces of driftwood, when struck, produce unique, fascinating tones. After collecting a number of pieces with seemingly complementary tones, I assembled a kind of makeshift marimba and used it to practice a rumba guaguanco-inspired rhythm. Recorded on May 25, 2021. Video of the performance at https://vimeo.com/580547360/af7abfc153
