A startled Blackbird takes off and flies past the mic with a squawk. 17 June 06. Sony MD (in LP2) and mic. I had left the recording gear running in the garden as it was a particularly still evening. When I later looked out of the patio door, this Blackbird took off.

great sound! Always wanted to record a bird taking off in startled flight, but never really figured out a way to arrange it to happenn on cue. Something like that works pretty damn well though.
