In the old days the Soundfx-archive of the Finnish Broadcasting Company acted also as a sound-department producing soundscapes when ordered.
This sound is a result of that practice.
Lots of programs dealing with wars in the 1940s are made, and it's obvious that this mix is made for that purpose.
In the archive there's a large collection of single soundeffects recorded during decades. By mixing and processing these sounds it's possible to create almost anything - and so it was also in the analog world.
This mix is made long ago and the sound-designer is retired, so it's impossible to find out all details. Usually this kind of mixes were for single-use, but some frequently needed soundscapes were archived - fortunately.
Perhaps the all clear siren at the end would crown this mix.
