Low rumbling, sinister and terrifying horror cinematic hits are made by hitting a metallic spring. Discordant and uneasy, these sounds are musically frightening and can add suspense to a scene, or heighten a jump-scare.
Recorded with Tascam DR-60DMKII 4-track field recorder and Octava MK 012 Small Diaphragm Condenser Microphone. Processing: Sounds are faded out, and spaced to ensure each sound ends properly.
Recorded for first-year sound design student project for the university "Open Window Insititute" (OWI).
