I wanted to make a sound effect for a game I'm developing, and so I recorded a 100-mm artillery cannon at Camp Williams (Utah National Guard), then modified the sounds using Audacity.
The recording was done on an Olympus digital recorder in the mid-2000s (first decade).
It sounded a little to me like the tribute cannon from Hunger Games (the sound effect that signals the deaths of the tributes), thus the name.
