Mobilization in support of victims of rape and sexual violence in Brussels in support of Gisèle Pélicot

In support of Gisele Pelicot, Caroline Darian and all victims of rape and sexual violence, several feminist groups organized a mobilization on Place Poelaert, Brussels, Belgium.

"According to a report published in March 2020 by Amnesty International Belgium and SOS Viol, 47% of Belgians have been confronted with sexual violence. 91% of these occur in the family and/or friendly circle. In addition, a third of young people believe that if you don't explicitly say "no" it's not rape.
The trial of Dominique Pélicot and the 51 other attackers is a powerful symbol of the sexual violence against FINTA people (Women, intersex people, non-binary people, trans people and agender people) and children. It highlights the scourges of intra-family violence, incest, chemical submission, rape, medical wandering and impunity.
We demand justice and protection for all victims. Let shame change sides, let impunity end, let the walls of vi*| culture fall.
Let us unite our voices and forcefully remind: the only ones responsible are the aggressors and those who protect them.
Together, let us join forces so that shame changes sides"
