Munich Trudering – Extreme Thunder Impact (Raw Excerpt from Field Recording)
This raw, unprocessed audio excerpt captures an exceptionally powerful thunder impact recorded in the Munich district of Trudering. Using a Zoom F3 in 48 kHz / 32‑bit float together with Earsight The One omnidirectional microphones mounted on a Jecklin disc, the recorder was fixed securely in an open residential window to capture the full acoustic energy of the storm without obstruction.
This segment represents only the most intense thunder event of the original storm recording. The lightning strike occurs extremely close, producing a sudden, explosive broadband shockwave with immense low‑frequency energy and a sharp transient peak. The 32‑bit float capture preserves the full dynamic range of the lightning discharge without clipping, allowing the immediacy and raw force of the thunder to be experienced exactly as it occurred.
Reflections from surrounding buildings and the window frame contribute additional layers of depth, creating a wide, reverberant stereo field that emphasizes the power and spatial movement of the thunder. Minor environmental details, such as faint distant traffic and minimal background ambience, remain present but are naturally overshadowed by the dominating thunder impact.
This excerpt is an authentic, unaltered document of a high‑energy thunder event — ideal for sound designers, atmospheric and cinematic applications, impact layering, or as a reference example of an extreme close‑proximity thunderclap.
