i must admit, this is bad quality. But it'll work

I have read (at hollywoodlostandfound.net, which seems to have a lower quality copy of this? - I'm not hearing the higher frequencies there nearly so clearly as here - where was this file here in freesound obtained?) that this scream can be heard "in the clear" in the Judy Garland version of "A Star as Born".

I don't believe the original of this would have been stereo, no? Wouldn't it have been mono? It was first recorded in 1951.
