This is a field recording of crickets in the woods at approximately 12:30am on April 11, 2017 in New Hampshire, USA.
It was comfortably warm on this evening and wind was non-existent, a perfect night for capturing sounds outdoors.
Recorded using a Zoom H4N Pro (internal mics) and imported into Adobe SoundBooth for reducing noise floor.

Used again, somewhat slowed and pitched downward. It still has that nighttime feel to it, but now the frogs and crickets and things sound somehow...alien. Which was my intent, as the audio project it's used in does not take place in our world.

I used this sound as part of the ambient background sound for one of my audio RP projects, involving some fireworks, comedic rambling, and a talking possum. The crickets in the background really help to bring everything together. Thanks for recording it!

@bextheboo It is quite interesting hearing some of the varying night time sounds depending on location. I've spent a lot of time in Northeast PA myself, about 15 minutes from Scranton and I agree they do sound similar.
