The popcorn popping sound was created by recording a wire brush being pulled down a metallic surface, overlapped with the sound of breaking matches.

Sound was recorded using Zoom H6 recorder, the microphone that was used was the interchangeable input capsule X/Y microphone, that comes with the recorder. Reaper was used to remove some noise reduction was done using ReaFir and Reacomp was used to compress the sound.

Very clever way to get popcorn without microwave/popper/metallic pot noises. Thanks!
