This is a bit of an experiment, a DW Custom 14" Maple snare recorded with three microphones (Rode NT5-MP and AKG D-40). There is a little extra EQ and both analogue and digital compression.
Drumhead is a Remo Ambassador Coated skin, dampened with a 14" Remo plastic ring. The snare is played with mallets.
Microphones are AKG D-40 and Rode NT5-MP, interfaces are Focusrite Saffire 40 and Roland UA-1G.
6 velocity layers, -1 the lowest, -6 the highest.
"Saturated" samples are of a processed version with an extra emphasis on 2 KHz, "unsaturated" samples are the regular version.
