These are field recordings where the far surf hit large rock faces and the near sound is the ebb and flow of slower water in channels of rock, closer to the beach. The left and right omnidirectional mic capsules are separately mounted in lavalier housings that allow independent placement up to a meter apart. Placement for each was very close to interesting water sounds by pools and channels. The rhythm of the waves keeps various sounds in sync and give the spatial dynamics – thanks for noticing.

The spatial dynamics, not the stereo effects but the distinction between near and far sounds, make this set of recordings special. Not quite what I was seeking, these close splashes overpowering the distant crashes, but still great.
