Raphael.Malfliet

Raphael Malfliet is a field recordist, composer and sound artist based in Antwerp, Belgium. He strongly believes in the power of sound as a medium to facilitate and improve a mutual understanding with our environment. In order to support this connection it is of the utmost importance for him to spark an exchange of knowledge and communication on sound.

By creating and taking time to listen, he explores and investigates historical and sociological contexts from a sound perspective and is attracted to understanding its influence and importance on communities.

He translates these values to his work in electronic music, improvisation and location recording and holds them dear when working in interdisciplinary artistic contexts, be it installation, performance or composition.
