It was not on our plan to stop here but it was so hot so we gave it a try. "Cenote" it said on the road sign - in handwritten letters. There was not so much to see: a man and a horse harnessed to a small rickety vehicle sitting on a narrow-gauge railway leading nowhere into the bush. The ride was as bumpy as it was fun. And the cenotes in Chelentún are well tucked away. We were the only visitors.
