Another example of how not to plug your electric guitar in: with the volumes already up and the amp switched on. This sample was generated with a Gibson SG and a VOX AC-30 amplifier. It was recorded using two microphones (a Shure SM-58 and an AKG), one positioned directly in front of the left speaker and the other in front of the right. A substantial amount of bleed was inevitable!
