A couple geese in the woods honking their little heads off. Recorded from maybe 60-80 yards away with my Sennheiser MKH 60 shotgun mic into a Zoom F3. Minimal EQ applied. With some splicing and processing you can get some nice single honk effects out of this.
You can also hear the occasional squirrel, woodpecker, and tree creaking from the cold winter wind in northern Indiana.
I'll be putting the isolated sound in my mobile app Resonaut if you're interested in trying out a soundscape mixer app. Currently beta testing on iOS (as of March 2026), coming to Android too soon. Click the link in my profile for more info.
I love seeing where my sounds are used. Feel free to reach out!
