Sometimes, the real sound just isn't enough to meet the expectations of an audience trained to recognize certain sounds as belonging to certain actions. While I'm sure this is probably pretty close to what it actually would sound like, it also isn't unique enough to differentiate it from a myriad of similar sounding things that have nothing to do with throwing knives.
That said, I'd be happy to use it for UI sounds, chopping herbs on a small cutting board, as part of woodworking Foley, and I'm sure I could find more.
