Ambiance of Długa street in central Warsaw (close to Old Town). You can hear mostly passing cars, but also some people walking and talking as well church bells. Recorded On February 24 2012.
Distinctive for the sound of Długa street, is that it's paved, what You can notice by listening to the cars passing.
Recording is quadrophonic. Was made with Zoom H4n with two spaced stereo microphones: Sony MS5 as front pair (set to 90 degree angle) and Zoom internal microphones set to 120 degree as rear. I don't remember exact spacing, but it was about 40 cm. Front and rear can be swapped, if You need. You can also use just two first or two last channels or mix them in stereo, as You like.
Sound had been recorded in the particular location, becouse it was than used in a radio drama about so called "Polish Hotel", which existed there. The Hotel is connected to the story of a trap set by German occupants for Jewish people. You can read more on Wikipedia https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hotel_Polski
