@Sadiquecat Thanks for the comment! It was a wall clock with batteries. My original recording was also quiet, but I amplified it and denoised it a little bit in audacity.

What kind of mechanical clock was it ? A round one of the wall with batteries, or a pendulum one? Or other?
I tried recording a wall clock one and it was very difficult/quiet.
This one seems to have a fair amount of "body" to it and be recorded with a little distance (15cm ish) and not straight-up 2cm away from the ticking mechanism. Giving it a realistic and full body sound!
