Snippets of the Rotterdam Zomercarnaval 2009 (summer carnaval), a day long of Caribbean atmosphere (although the party has its roots in the Cape Verdian community in Rotterdam). It attracts some 600.000 - 800.000 viewers. These are some short recordings I made at a great distance to capture the festive mood. More focused recordings would be problematic because much of the music being played is copyright protected. Sony PCM-D50
