In my hometown there is an old copper mine. At the site a bell/clock can be heard constantly striking. When the mine was active the bell was linked with the water pumps and could be heard in some parts of the mine. If the bell stopped so did the pumps. The workers would then be quick to leave the mine before the passages would be filled with water. The sounds can be still heard today but just as a historic reminder of when the mine was active. Personally i find the sound somewhat scary just walking by.

Location: Selbäck, Mora, Sweeden

Recorder: Sony PCM D100 + internal mics (A+B Config)

Post: In Pro Tools i EQ:d down some lows and added some automation to reduce the harsh impacts of the hits. Did some isolation but ended up pulling it back just because the ambience and reverb of the bell makes it more dauting.
