A stereo recording of an old style telephone. This is a genuine Bell System Ringer Model 687A (8/70) made by Western Electric. It's a tan box about 15x13x6 cm. It was usually placed in a warehouse or far from the main phone so people would know they had a call. Recorded with a Sony ECM-99 Stereo Microphone from about 2 feet away to a SonyMD recorder. There may be a little room noise with amplification.

nice job. thanks. now i'll know when my phone is "ringing!" ...right now the dang thing is broken -- never rings. plus sometimes it decides to play music -- like a transistor radio or something. it's screwy. so thanks for the fix.
