Cyberpunk Urban Walk.wav

This is a soundscape I created for a ballet company of modern dancers. I wanted to create a musical ambient for a dancer to imagine to be in a cyberpunk futuristic scene and walking through a grey atmosphere where big, dark buildings, broken cars, dirty streets and heavy clouds are constantly oppressive. I basically used two synths to make it. Everything was recorded and mastered with Logic 9. The drones in the first part (no rhythms) are made with iZotope Iris. I've put three sounds of blowing wind and a white noise. With Iris you can choose different frequencies on sound samples you put in and play them like drones (forward, backward, both); plus you can add some reverb, delay, distortion. I added Space Design (Logic's reverb designer) to emphasize the effect of drones' motion. Last I used Ohmicide (from Ohm) for a little compression and harmonic distortion. When the rhythm comes in I used another Ohm plugin called Symptohm. It's a wonderful synth for drums, bass and pads. I started from presets and then I've modified them to my personal taste. I wanted to obtain a drumbeat that seemed to be dragging constantly. The bass sound and the sound of the main melody (when the beat starts) are made modifying a preset on iZotope Iris synth. I used iZotope Alloy on submixes, iZotope Thrash for Bass Drum and Bass (sidechain), iZotope Ozone 5 for "mastering" . I think that's all.
