I took this recording next to a small estuary on the side of Summer Lake in southern Oregon. The insects were so bad, and so aggressive, that I had to run to place my recorder in a good spot, and I was bit several times by horseflies through my jeans and sweater. There are a lot of really cool sounds here and textures. Once I left, the sounds really open up and the world of the lake comes back to life. Headphones recommended. I like to listen to this while meditating or falling asleep.
