Recorded at Braeside, in Howick, South Africa. An approaching thunderstorm presented the perfect opportunity to grab a quick recording. The storm was approaching from the east, while the mics were placed facing west. The local dog has a strong dislike of thunder, and every clap was met with frantic, anxiety-induced barking.
Given the location, one can hear various sounds one would associate with suburban areas. Besides the thunder and barking, you will hear insects, bats, wind rustling leaves, with an ambulance also making an appearance.
This was recorded using Clippys EM272Z1s and Zoom F3.
Recorded at 32-bit float / 96000 Hz and exported at 24-bit / 48000 Hz using 512-point sinc interpolation.
