Recorded at the Manketti Game Reserve, near Lephalale, along a small dirt track within the reserve. It was overcast, cool (~20°C), and there was a slight breeze. The surroundings consisted of savanna-type thicket. Within the greater surroundings is South Africa's largest open-pit coal mine, which feeds coal directly to two of the country's largest power stations via conveyor belts.
In the recording, you can hear many of the natural sounds of the bushveld, however throughout the entire recording is the drone of the power plants and the conveyor belts that carry coal from the mine to the power plants. In addition, cars can be heard occasionally passing on a road located outside of the reserve, with the sounds appearing louder with the changing wind direction.
This was recorded using my Clippys EM272Z1s and Zoom F3.
Recorded at 32-bit float / 96000 Hz and exported at 24-bit / 48000 Hz using 512-point sinc interpolation.
