This audio was recorded at the Howick uMngeni River Conservancy 160126. It was a particularly noisy day as the rains had briefly stopped, providing an opportunity for many of the local residents bordering the park to mow their lawns. After walking for some time, I found a quiet area and placed my recording gear—Clippy EM272Z1 microphones and a Zoom F3—right next to the river, positioning the Clippys approximately 30 cm above the actively flowing water.
The river channel is underlain by rocks, creating relatively turbulent flows. Bird calls are abundant in this area, with the occasional car heard driving in the background. The weather was warm (approx. 25°C) and a thunderstorm had recently passed.
Recorded at 32-bit float / 96000 Hz and exported at 24-bit / 48000 Hz using 512-point sinc interpolation.
