Field recording of Formula-1 2012 Red Bull Renault V-8 race car performing a demonstration start-line idle and green-flag acceleration take-off at Sydney Motorsport Park 10 March 2013.
The idle is about 6,700 rpm and fairly quiet--but when throttle is opened and clutch is engaged, an almighty loud scream ensues with rpm's rising to 17,000 to 18,000 rpm with wheelspin--and the race car disappears around turn one about 1/3 mile away.
