Long Key Natural Area is one of the largest natural areas that has been conserved by Broward County Parks and Recreation. The elevated oak hammock used to be a part of the Everglade marsh islands but has been separated geologically over many centuries.
This recording was made directly above a wetlands pond along a boardwalk. Many wading bird species were present, but, unfortunately, mostly quiet.
This is a "sense of place" recording, focusing on the ambient sounds on-location.
