@J.R. Shepard - HA!

In this sound effect I personally sense both the American and British anxiety of politely holding your cough. Although there is also a puckish splash of unfulfilled bathroom anxiety that bespeaks a sort of Turkish need to pee.

@AvidRay - personally, my favourite part of this recording is the AC with the full bladder holding on in quiet desperation. As for American film crews, their silence has it's own merits; a cocktail of impatience and fearful deference for the AD would you not agree? Ok, now I feel like I'm toying with a brandy glass full o' room tone and that ain't natural... Back to work me...

Easy Boys. They say that there's a limit on how good Jell-O can be...I think that applies to room tone as well. Though, there's certainly an appreciation of room tone beyond what it is -- that is, what it is not. No air conditioner or fridge kicking in, no noisy neighbours or distant barking dogs. All I hear is a room full of film crew who suddenly feel the need to cough but are politely holding it. Their thought waves are kind of British, though -- do you think you could do it again in American? ;)
