This capture is of the ambience from a pathway beside the old 'Currie Station Bridge' - level with the 'Currie Brig', spanning the Water of Leith.
Birds and a medium breeze can be heard in the trees, along with the river running below the bridge. Traffic can be heard from the Kirkgate over the Currie Brig and on the nearby Lanark Road.
The original Brig is thought to date back to the 14th century. However, the current one is a replacement from around 1896.
In 1666, General Tam Dalyell of the Binns marched his troops over this bridge to intercept Covenanters prior to the Battle of Rullion Green.
The bridge is located very near the historic Currie Kirk (founded 1296) and the village of Currie.
