A stereo field recording of strong wind, with the strongest gusts creating a whistling sound in some rigging in a garden. Rode NT-4 in Blimp > Shure FP 24/SD Mix Pre > Sony PCM M10
@conleec Thank you for your comment, This sound was recoded by lying down in the lee of the wind behind a raised bed and pointing the mics towards the rigging, I have edited the description to include a Rode Blimp as well.
Really excellent recording. Can you comment on your technique? I'm going to try recording some wind soon, and I think the way to get the whistles is to place the mic strategically next to an obstacle that deflects the wind, correct? I'm not sure I could do better than this, but I will try in the next month or so when I get to my parent's ranch in Northern Oregon. Thank you for posting this.
