In the world of guns there are only a few designs over a hundred years old and still in use. One of them is this historic 1911. Designed by legendary American gun designer John Moses Browning and adopted by the U.S. Army in the year 1911, it was a upgrade to the then revolvers used in the Philippine-American War. Today, 1911 usage in military, police, and personal defense, has declined due to the availability of newer .40 S&W and 9MM options, for various reasons beyond this description. Despite this, 1911s still see heavy use in shooting sports/competitions and there's still a fair amount of dedicated people who carry them daily for personal defense. This handgun did see us through two World Wars after all.
This 1911 variant is made by Springfield Armory. They say they were first major 1911 manufacturer to feature a forged rail on the frame for weapon mounted lights. Most importantly they kept the 1911 special feature: the trigger is second to none, especially compared to modern striker fired handguns. Also it'll make a pretty big hole at whatever you just shot at. Good luck paying for ammo though.
TAC0 note:
Wow I haven't uploaded in a year.
The sounds could be louder, or not in an echo room, or not MP3. Oh well. Also what surprised me was how not beefy it sounds, I guess lot of these gun sounds are a bunch of bits of metal sliding about.
Recored with TASCAM DR-40 and audio-technica AT835b
Sound unedited as I don't know your vision. Also, the volume varies per sound. Please see the attached video for better context.
