by loading it in Paintshop pro and applying image processing (see original file for details).
Despite the fact my file was popular, I myself found the sound too abrasive and harsh to be musically useful. Here is another version where I mix the original sound with a processed version for a more useful result.
I used a gate with side input from the unprocessed sound to gate the harsh processed version before mixing.
The processed version of the sound was put through one of Ableton Live's reverb presets with ~6'% wet.
