California rain. This was recorded in the side yard, and the water has a lot of surfaces to bounce off for more noise. You can hear some distant car engine rumble beneath the splattering water.
Unlike this sound, which were recorded with two Clippy EM272 lavalier microphones, this was recorded with a stereo pair of large diaphragm condenser sE Electronics 4400 microphones in cardioid mode.
