I stood on the platform at the Montrose L station with a Sony minidisc and recorded the entire process of a NYC subway train coming and going. Low noise, though you may wish to use a high-pass filter as there is so much bass in the material.

Really captures the basic essence on the NYC subway slightly makes me feel at home. Gives a real NYC feel for persons not common with the city. Amazing!! 5 stars
