Hello all.

First of all, thank you for probably the greatest source for free samples around. grin

I have published my first song made with samples from NoiseCollector. It's in the electronica downtempo chillout genre well suited for a non-stressing atmosphere. Please, listen to it here: http://www.soundclick.com/bands/pagemusic.cfm?bandID=526222

Feedback is very appreciated. Click 'lyrics/story' to see the credit for use of the samples. Is the credit okay or shall it be more specific?

Happy Easter.

Very, very nice! I think this one will be going on my iPod once they put the mp3 up.

Hope to hear more where this came from.

As to the crediting... let's see. The commons deed is a bit vague on this, so here's the relevant section of the legal code:

You must keep intact all copyright notices for the Work and give the Original Author credit... by conveying the name (or pseudonym if applicable) of the Original Author if supplied; the title of the Work if supplied; to the extent reasonably practicable, provide the Uniform Resource Identifier, if any, that Licensor specifies to be associated with the Work or a Derivative Work, unless such Uniform Resource Identifier does not refer to the copyright notice or licensing information for the Work; and in the case of a Derivative Work, provide a credit identifying the use of the Work in the Derivative Work (e.g., "Remix of the Work by Original Author," or "Inclusion of a portion of the Work by Original Author in collage"wink...

So, you list the author's name and that you are using his samples in your work, but are missing the titles of the samples. I'm not clear on whether you need to specify that they are under a CC Sampling Plus license, but it couldn't hurt.

Since the URLs of each sample don't specify the license, you probably don't have to include the URLs.

BTW, you can easily access the attribution data for samples you've downloaded with the "Attribution list" feature in the sidebar.

Hope this helps (and doesn't confuse anyone further.) tongue

Thank you for your feedback Halleck smile

The 'Attribution list' have been a great help to me. I will include the title of the samples used, it doesn't hurt after all.

Happy Easter to you (or what's left of it...)
