A few years ago a guy used one of my sounds (https://freesound.org/people/daveincamas/sounds/22412/) in an interactive exhibit at the Smithsonian Museum of Natural History in Washington DC.

This completely cracks me up because I recorded it on the built-in mic on a boombox in the 1980s. So having quality equipment isn't always super important!

He did of course ask for permission to use it commercially. I have yet to turn anyone down who asks.

It just goes to show you that no matter what recordable mic you have, all it takes is innovation to create something unique. Who knows, it might become something favorable to anybody of interest. smile
