Ok, here we go on another fun game.

I'm collecting songs for a music compilation, that (when finished) i will move around on various CCwebs/art/soundart/netlabels (etc...), there will be promotion, artwork, mastering etc..

The particularity of this compilation is that i only accept unfinished songs for it.

It's a compilation of those unfinished songs every musician haves on it's hardrive.

And i don't want you to finish them, just unfinished pearls.

If you want to participate drop me a line here or at (plagasul at gmail dot com) or in my profile etc...

nice idea, plagasul. I've got tons of unfinished tracks... :wink: Are you going to filter by genre or "everything" is allowed to enter?

I think this is very interesting, as I have some unfinished projects here...
BUT: Who can guarantee me that nobody will take that samples, finish them and earn some million dollars with it?

When posting sound samples here I know that not everyone that downloads them will keep to the CC license, but it's only some sounds so if anyone uses them without permission that's just the risk you take when posting files here...
But I think it's another thing with real music. I would like to show other's what I'm working on, to hear if it's worth finishing that projects at all, but I don't want to listen to it in a commercial or in the charts (if it would realy be that good hehehe) tomorrow!!

How can we handle this?

Depends on the material received i will build an album or another, consideering continuity, a certain homogeinity, but without genre preferences, my ear is pretty open, from noise to psytrance, pop, hard rock, idm or avant-ethnic-jazzcore.

The album would, of course, be licensed under CC. About what u ask here, wich is probably something that deserves it's own topic (and i encourage you to open one), the truth is that, if you own the rights of ur *unfinished* music, and someone copies it without ur consent and out of the license, for commercial purposes, then that person is doing something ilegal and u could use laws to try to stop him or get something back. I can't , of course, tell you that i will assume that role.

I am also not informed of actual real situations where a CC licensed material got used ilegally and where legal actions were taken. Hmm, no, really, start a new thread let's see what info can we collect on the (interesting)subject.

Anyone else is interested in submiting a song ? Do you need more information ? Let's give a use to those *unfinished* jewels, who said that *unfinished* music can't be released eh ? i am sure is much more addicting like that... it's almost a marketing movement... jeje
